August looks like a busy month for Torae. On August 1st he’ll be releasing the 1st of his 5-episode series on TheUrbanDaily.com chronicling the making of his album For The Record. Airing every Wednesday in August, Off The Record: The Docuseries catches exclusive behind the scenes footage of Torae’s journey as an independent artist. It paints an intimate portrait of what it truly takes to make an album, build a career and balance family life in Hip-Hop. The docuseries features appearances from the album’s producers DJ Premier, Large Professor, 9th Wonder, Marco Polo, Khrysis, Nottz and Fatin; artists Masta Ace, Skyzoo, Sha Stimuli and Sean Price; and industry veterans Noah Friedman of Duck Down Records and Amber Ravenel just to name a few
On August 28th, Torae will digitally release Off The Record, a nine-track EP recorded during the making of For The Record.
“I worked very hard on For The Record and recorded a lot of tracks with different producers. Some songs didn’t make the album, not because they were wack, but because I didn’t want to over saturate the project and storyline. Off The Record is something for the true Torae fans: songs that deserve to be heard. Think of it as the For The Record, Lost Tapes.” says Torae.
Off The Record: The EP will be released digitally via iTunes and other online retailers and streaming services on Tuesday, August 28, 2012.
